Attached is a screen capture of my music singles collection that I have added by hand.
All you do is add a movie section and then when each file is uploaded, edit the file before Plex scrapes the data. Then I google the song name and add the en.wikipedia.org info into the summary and then google image search and add the art work. The images for singles are square.
I have added another section for concerts and done the same.
This takes a long time, so it would be great for Plex to Automate it. also I would like the ability to shuffle the singles.

A way of to automate downloading metadata of music video singels is to use a movie section and than use a special scraper for the section. Such a scraper has to be build and needs a place to find the metadata of the singels. We could use echoprint (http://echoprint.me) for this. Echoprint uses a codegen to calculate a fingerprint of audio files and audio streams in video. If you than upload this fingerprint to the echonest server (http://the.echonest.com/ , http://developer.echonest.com/docs/v4/song.html#identify) it will return all the echonest ID of the song. Using this ID and the Echonest API (http://developer.echonest.com/docs/v4/index.html) we can download the metadata.

Anyone Else wishing that Plex had a scraper for music concerts and singles. Also the ability to then make playlists and shuffle all would be a big bonus.

Great deal of music concerts and documentaries (poster thumbs) can be found on http://www.themoviedb.org which means metadata should be fetched normally. Music clips (square thumbs) is bigger problem. Nowever, for best results, Plex should mark them appropriately, so that skin knows what thumbs to use in the section - posters vs square thumbs.

I find that there is about a 50% hit rate with concerts with the http://www.themoviedb.org scraper. Obviously the singles are not scraped at all.
So I have set up a new server, but want to copy across the 10 hours of manual metadata input I have done for my music videos, any one know how to transfer individual section metadata.....

I've been in a similar situation before and I ended up posting my titles to http://www.themoviedb.org
I did not need to edit those titles manually ever since and I've probably helped some other users as well.
+1 to add this feature to Plex.....
