Server Version#: 1.41.3.9314
Player Version#: 8.44 (IPhone)
Hi,
I’ve been trying to solve this issue for hours now, if anyone knows what’s up I’d be very grateful !
I’m having trouble connecting to my Plex server from the iOS app on my iPhone, even though the server is accessible in other ways. Here’s my setup and the issue:
- Server Setup:
- Plex Media Server is running on
192.168.1.188. - The server is hosted in Docker on my local network.
- The LAN subnet is
192.168.1.0/24, and all devices, including my iPhone (192.168.1.157), are on the same subnet.
- What Works:
- I can access Plex Web (
http://192.168.1.188:32400/web) from Safari on my iPhone without issues. - NetAnalyzer confirms that port
32400on192.168.1.188is reachable from my iPhone. - Other devices on the same network can connect to the server just fine (via http://192.168.1.188:32400/web).
- What Doesn’t Work:
- The Plex iOS app fails to connect to the server, returning error code -1001 when I manually enter
192.168.1.188:32400in the app. - I also tried to play with the settings and received a -1004 at some point
- Automatic server discovery in the app also fails.
- What I’ve Tried:
- Verified the LAN subnet configuration (
192.168.1.0/24) in Plex under Settings > Network > LAN Networks. - Reinstalled the Plex iOS app and reset its settings.
- Additional Info:
- I’m not using a reverse proxy or VPN for local access.
- Plex is up to date on both the server and the iOS app.
I think I’ve tried all possible combination at this point, wondering if someone had a similar issue and solved it ?
