In Music→Artist view, some artists are listed 5 or more times

I have my folders arranged as follows:
Genre → Artist → Album [and my audio files are inside the “Album” folder]

In Plex, some artist names are displayed five or more times in a row, and I have to manually merge certain artists.

Why might there be duplicate artist names in Music→Artist view?

This usually has to do with one of these:

• folder/filenames not conforming to Plex’s guidelines (Adding Music Media From Folders | Plex Support)

• If Plex is configured to use embedded tags, it may be a problem with your tags (that link explains some of the more common ones).
