for two days approx. I am having connectivity problems from outside to my plex server on different devices. My server is fully accessible, firewall disabled, ports open etc etc etc.
If in any client (smartv, kodi) I enable “allow non-secure connections” it works perfectly. In app.plex.tv the same, with https I DO NOT arrive, through http I arrive perfectly
In other android devices (my box s, smarphone …) I access without problems with the option “allow non-secure connections” disabled.
I already say, it has been going on for me about two days, I have not changed absolutely anything on the server (same version) and it has always been perfectly
This happens regardless of the client’s IP, either in the same or in a network or in different networks, I say this to rule out firewall issues by IP and others, also, as I mentioned above, I have it temporarily disabled due to the problem, to rule out stuff.
I have the solution as a contingency, which is to enable “allow non-secure connections”, but I want to know the root of the problem to avoid the latter.
I’m having similar problems… everything is showing connected/accessible/secure while using the web browser - green icon etc.
However no apps (other than the web app) can access the server remotely (or locally on the internal network) unless they are set to allow connections to insecure servers.
I can’t see what the problem is though (am running latest version on Synology NAS).
I have a similar problem all of a sudden. I also thought maybe its a firewall problem cos i recently put a new antivirus and fire wall on but I checked and plex is allowed on firewall. I also disabled my firewall just to see if it makes any difference but it doesn’t…On my tv plex sys its not secured but when I go on my server then it says its secured… My Server shows on my tv like it always did. the icon and everything but when I go to my tv series or movies then it loads for a bit and says my server isn’t secure o in some cases it says the server isn’t accessible… the only way i have found to make it run then is to co and open my server in my browser, then it it shows my tv series or movies on tv if i go to it. but I never use to do that to make it run.
Here’s what I discovered with a bit of digging. You still might want to check and make sure you’ve turned this off or " Opted-Out".
A reboot of the AT&T gateway forces a fresh download of firmware if AT&T sees an older version. The newest version includes a nice little hidden DNS rebinding “Opt-In / Opt-Out” change to your account.
You’ll also want to use different DNS servers. Further down that post it has some suggestions for that as well.
