I know it’s poltical season and both parties are running ads but there needs to be some sort of restriction or option to skip the poltical ad that features the couple about to have sex. It’s loud, abrupt and lewd and there’s absolutely no content warning. I was watching the platorm while my 7 year old nephew was in the room and comercial caught me off guard. I quickly click off and tried to go back to resuming my show but the ad was in the line up again. Hear me out, I am not a prude and fully understand the point of the ad but I’m sure I’m not the only parent or guardian put off by this advertisement.
In the past, Plex (via forum moderators) has acknowledged but not actually responded to complaints about ad content being inappropriate: How to remove religious ads?
Hopefully you get a response. I absolutely agree that running ads that offend users is counterproductive, penny wise and pound foolish.
This maybe highlights the fact that if you run an ad-supported business you need to devote significant resources in terms of human capital to actually monitoring ad quality and responding to issues with ads. It’s really, really not a hands-off process.
