I have an Intel NUC running Debian as my Plex Server.
I use a FreeNAS box for my library (remote library called TV Shows), and
have a local file on the debian box that I record to (TVLocal), and have a cron job that moves the files into the FreeNAS library (TV Shows).
I have recorded several world cup games via my HD HomeRun with the DVR to the TVLocal library (works great). Because this HD is a smaller SSD I use the TV Shows library on the FreeNAS box as the main library, but recording to the local drive makes sense as it takes away network failure as a way to interrupt or lose recordings.
I have one game in particular though that when copied to TV Shows does not show up through the plex web app (or in the apple tv), but it is there according to the filesystem. The permissions are the same as all other files in both the local and remote library (group and owner are both the plex user, and permissions are rwx, r-x, r-x). I can play the file from the original spot but after many rescans of the remote library as well as meta data refresh on both it still fails to appear through the plex playback. The other interesting thing is that the icons for the FIFA folders are different. Where I record them they show up as a blue and red graphic with FIFA QATAR, and the library I move them to they show up with a more sophisticated looking FIFA QATAR graphic (white and grey), and the titles are different too: on the local library the games are titled as x vs. y, but on the remote library the just come up as epsode # or with the date, but never the teams. I feel like the metadata on the remote side is from the internet and on the local side is what it was broadcast with. What am I doing wrong with the library management side of this?
