Incorrect Match of existing Movie

I’ve been running the free version of Plex on a Windows 7 Pro Laptop for awhile now, used it occasionally.

This week I bought a Plex Pass to check out the DVR / Live TV Features (To replace that failed Windows 7 Pro system that was running Windows Media Center and the Free Version of Plex.

Prior to embarking on this adventure with Plex’s DVR/ Live TV, Plex on that failed laptop, and serving up existing media just fine. The failed system’s Plex was pointing to two network mapped drives/folders for media:

M:\Movies
M:\TV

These two folders sit on an older DroboPro FS and Plex had found and cataloged everything without any major issues that I am aware of. I installed the Sub-Zero Subtitles Channel for automatic Subtitle downloads, and it was working just fine as well.

Moving forward after the old system crashed, I spun up a Windows 10 VM, gave it ample CPU and Memory, installed the latest Plex and now had access to the Plex Pass features.

On this setup of the new Plex System, I pointed it to my existing folders with exiting content:

**M:\Movies
M:\TV
**
for those libraries.

This morning, I see an existing Movie identified by the New Plex system as “Home Movies”, which is incorrect. The old Plex system, which was kept up to date and existed for over a year, identified this movie correctly.

I’d ask why did Plex get it right on the old installation, but incorrect on the new installation, but i’m more interested in how to get Plex to change this from a TV series called “Home Movies” to a Movie called “10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)” as well as other errors I’m finding now.

I selected the option to “Fix Incorrect Match” and was offered up:

"Home Movies"
&
"The New Scooby-Doo Movies"

Not even close.

Clicking on “TV Shows” and viewing the existing content, I see this “Home Movies” tv series (that I’ve never watched or recorded) and I see 2 seasons.

Drilling down into what is here, I see **Season 1, 2 episodes **of this series called “Home Movies”, and Season 20, 1 episode of the same…

for: “Home Movies 1999, S1: E10” I drill down to the “Edit Home Movies - Season 1”, go to the “Info” tab, it is listing the following two Files:

M:\Movies\10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)\10 Cloverfield Lane (2016).mp4
M:\Movies\13 Hours The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016)\13 Hours The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016).mp4

I do the same for “Home Movies - Episode 2016 (S20 E2016)” and I see this file referenced:
M:\Movies\I Am Wrath 2016\I Am Wrath 2016.mkv

thank you for your time,
