Incorrect number of tuners reported in use

Server Version#: 1.19.1.2621
Player Version#:
Tuner Make/Model: HDHR QUATRO

Plex is reporting 3 tuners in use whilst recording ITV1 (show also available in HD) whilst watching E4.

Setting 2 more programs to record Plex now states 5 tuners in use.

Which is obviously wrong.

Thanks for the screenshots. Would need server logs to go with screesnhots showing the issue. Ideally after a fresh relaunch of the server with debug logging enabled beforehand. This ensures logging is available from launch and the log would cover from period of no tuners in use

Please see these articles for debug logging and logs download

When taking screenshots, please indicate the time so I can relate that to the logs

Thanks

I am having a similar (same?) problem. Plex is indicating that it is recording the same show twice but only one file is saved in my library. However when I click on the “view HTML” button in the view info screen, I can see that two unique media grabbers are listed so that would lead me to believe that Plex has indeed tied up two tuners for the same show.

You have verbose logging on which makes the logs difficult to read.

If you deleted and re-added the DVR to quickly for your system to finish database cleanup it ends up with leftover tuner information causing the duplicate sessions. You can try deleting the DVR, waiting 1-2 minutes and re-adding it but if that doesn’t cure it then Plex will have to find an alternative to wiping the database and starting fresh.

Thanks for your reply. Do you suggest I turn Verbose logging off then?
So is this what you have seen from the logs then? A re boot of the server cured it, but at the expense of a programme that was recording. Are you saying deleting the hardware from the system and re adding too quickly or are you saying switching too quickly between programmes within plex has caused the error?

Unless it’s specifically requested, never use VERBOSE logging. 99% of the time, DEBUG is what we need :slightly_smiling_face:

Removing and re-adding the DVR, especially if it was in use at the time.

Ok if you referring to the hdhome run hardware, I physically didn’t remove and re install it today. If you are referring to the disk drive where the video files are stored again I didn’t remove or re install this either.
