I run my Plex Server on a Windows PC that I had been able to connect remotely to no problem for a long time. The other day, I used a VPN with tunneling on the server PC and was still able to connect into Plex remotely no problem. Now, with the VPN uninstalled from the server PC, I am unable to access Plex remotely from my usual remote network (let’s call it Network B), the same network that was accessing it fine when the VPN was one. Plex tells me that Remote Access is working no problem, so the indirect connection issue only appears when I am on Network B.
For example, if I have the Plex app open on my phone and connected through WiFi on Network B, I get an indirect connection. When I turn off WiFi and go on mobile network, Plex can connect securely and content plays no problem. I’ve tried rebooting and resetting my Network B router, changing DNS, to no luck. It seems like anything that tries to access Plex from Network B is still looking for the old VPN IP address. Does anyone have any history with this, and any suggestions how to fix? I am going up a wall here.
For what it’s worth, I also run Channels DVR on the server PC, and it is having the same exact problem with remote access. I can remote into the server PC with AnyDesk without issue.
Thank you!
