Most likely bad DNS information. Sometimes also VPN software.
Is the device supposed to be in the local network or is it remote?
If it’s local, check the DNS rebinding protection settings of the router. Make sure the domain plex.direct is in the exception list.
If it’s remote, one could try to reconfigure the router of the remote network. Set the DNS server to either Google or Cloudflare (8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 respectively).
Yes remote connection and yes I’m behind a vpn because starlink doesn’t allow port forwarding
I guess something on that phone/firestick doesn’t like your VPN, then. So it has to fall back to the Plex relay service.
