Individual Household Member TV Watch List

Hey all. Just wondering how others handle this. My partner and I use just a single user for Plex to watch our TV shows - this means we don’t have to log in as multiple users to set content as watched, etc and don’t have to worry about switching users whenever we turn on the TV. There are shows that only I watch, shows that only my partner watches and then those shows that we have to watch together.

What I’m after is a way to break out the display of that so we can easily just see what’s available in my shows, shows my partner watches or what’s available for both of us to watch.

I’ve used collection tags in the past to do the grouping - however you can’t filter the display to only unwatched in the collection (which is annoying when you have a large number of shows that you still have to browse through) and the fact you have to use the web interface to add the tags (and can’t just add them from the Android app or apple tv player etc.

Does anyone think they have an awesome way of handling this they would like to share?

Thanks in advance!

My suggestion would be to create an “All Shows” library, that points to all your shows. Then create “His” and “Hers” libraries. These will point to other directories. You add symlinks to these directories for the appropriate shows so they don’t take up extra space. Now you can choose which library to use when viewing and see the appropriate content.
