I have shows that we all watch, but we don’t always watch at the same time. If I put the same show in 2 different libraries, when I watch it, it marks them all as watched. I want to have 2 different lists that I can watch and keep them separate. I thought that making 2 libraries would do this, but it doesn’t. If I put hem in a playlist, it doesn’t remember where I am at in the playlist. Anyone know how to do this?
Does setting up individual users do what u want?
Not really. We all use the same player in the living room, but might watch shows at different times. I could make that work, but it’s not the way I would like it to work. At some point someone would be logged In as the wrong user and it would get confusing. That solution works as long as every user has their own player.

Or if you had ‘fast user switching’ available.
This is the exact scenario for which Plex Home was made.

I hear you but I use this option on one of my tv’s (Roku4) and u soon recognize your library (or not if it has been left on another users) as your “on deck” will be just yours…
You can also have PMP to ask each time for a user so that will help
Try it…
Sounds good. I will investigate some more and see.
I currently don’t have Plex Pass. It says it does what I want.
You can do what you are asking for but you might need to redo somethings. The watched status is based on an identifier used by Plex for each movie. This identifier is based on the agent used to match the movie. If you have the same movie matched using the same agent then the watched status will be the same for both items. If you want to be able to track them separately, you’ll need to rematch 1 of the libraries using another agent. There is no easy way to do this so it might be best to rematch the entire library.
i.e. You use the Plex Movie Agent/Freebase for your first library. Recreate the 2nd library but choose TheMovieDB as the agent. If you still want the same info to show on both, then go into the agents settings and under TheMovieDB, move the Plex Movie Agent to the top of the list. The info will come from the same source for both libraries but they will have different IDs.
This worked perfectly. Exactly what I wanted. I do have a follow up question.
Can you configure more than the 3 agents that are there by default? I don’t think I have a need for it, but it would be nice.
Is there a way to add theTVDB to the personal media agent? It’s in the other 2, and would be nice to have the option.
Unfortunately, with the included agents, you can only do this with 2 copies. No you can not include TheTVDB to the personal agent. There are some other 3rd party agents you could try and it may be able to do the same thing but they will not tie into the agents already used by Plex so you won’t get the same data.
