Ability to select which libraries appear on a per device basis.
I tried to find another feature request similar to mine, but the closest that I could find was "Parental Controls" and that's great, but not exactly what I have in mind.
I see that Plex has the ability to maintain which devices are using my account. I would LOVE to see the ability for me to just log in to myPlex and set which of my sections show up on each device. This *could* be used to cover the parental control feature request. In fact, right now I just have the kids movies in a separate section and instruct my kid to always click that one.
More detail on why I could really use this: As I said before, I have separate sections for Kids movies and Television shows that I would like to only show up on my kid's iPad. (It was a hand-me-down from grandparents!) I have a Roku in the gym/laundry room where we use Plex to stream workout videos which are all in their own sections. The final use case is the living room/bedroom (Roku and GoogleTV) where we would like to see every section except for the workout videos.
I would think that being able to selectively associate devices to specific sections would be very handy. Maybe I'm a special case, though?
I have posted a similar request (albeit in less specific form) in [this thread.](http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/47227-feature-request-the-ability-to-choose-to-not-shareannounce-collections/page__p__295507__fromsearch__1#entry295507)
Granted, my request was more about not sharing all of my libraries with everyone, but I guess I didn't want to get too greedy. What I would envision is the ability to choose what library sections show up on what clients. The reason I didn't ask for your particular feature is that it could get complex when we talk about myPlex sharing with friends and family, which is why I just asked for the ability to not share every library with everyone.
That's a valid concern. It could get a little complicated. Maybe the section selection should be available on each client as well, with the changes made as requests to the server, so that the server still is in control, but either the server maintainer or the client could control what shows up. We already have the ability to determine which sections are shared with others, so it shouldn't make things *too* complicated.
+1 for this feature. I would like to regulate what my children watch and what visitors may watch. I don't want my Home movies on myplex sharing nor do I want my children watching Die Hard 4.
I have more than one Plex server running in my house, one on my office computer, one on my HTPC. I want the client at the TV in the living room to only see content from the HTPC. Currently that means setting up the firewall to block traffic, but this is a kludge at best, and not for everyone or every situation.
