Initial loading issue on Apple TV due to enhanced player

This issue has started recently. I think about 2-3 days ago. This was not a problem before. Regardless of which movie/tv series that I try starting, the initial buffer (loading icon) takes about 8-10 seconds before the media starts. After that the video plays without any issue. Skipping forward does not result in buffering either.

The media is on the same network as the apple TV. They are connected via 1GB ethernet cable.

Specs:
N100 CPU, 16GB ram, 1GB ethernet connection. Media is on SSD/nvme.
Apple TV, 1GB ethernet connection.

The initial loading issue that I am trying to describe does not happen if I use the old video player.

Edit: I should mention that when I try to play any media using the plex app on my iphone, no such issue occurs.
