Plex Dance the episodes after renaming. This removes incorrect matching information from the Plex database.

Regarding embedded metadata:

If using the Plex TV Series agent/scanner:
Note: This setting affects the entire TV Show library.

  1. Edit the library
  2. Choose Advanced.
  3. Deselect Prefer local metadata.
  4. Save changes.
  5. Refresh the metadata for the library if Plex does not do so automatically.

If you are using one of the legacy agents/scanners:
Note: This affects all libraries using the legacy agents/scanners.

  1. Settings → Agents → Shows
  2. In all three sections, drag Local Media Assets (TV) to the bottom of the list (or deselect it).
  3. Refresh the metadata for the library.

To see which agent/scanner you are using:

  1. Edit the library
  2. Choose Advanced.
