I’ve tried several times to setup my tuners. I’m able to get the tuners installed and working properly. But it seems that the DVR never completes. I’m told that there is suppose to be device info for the dvr. But I never get that to show up.
I’m using hauppauge PCI tuners. After installing the tuners. I can record the shows I want. I’ve been told to delete the DVR and go thru the installation again. I’ve gone thru the installation go many times that livetv./dvrs shows that the DVR is now number 14.
I’m not sure how to respond to these responses. I’m using AI to help me work with Plex. Since I don’t know much about Plex. It is difficult to tell when AI is wrong. It has been very helpful on some of the things I wanted to know. It helped me to be able to print a list of all of my recorded TV shows and show me if they have been watched. Also to generate a list of TV shows that have not been watched yet. AI has been very helpful in showing me the URL’s that contain information about Plex.
Apparently, AI was incorrect when it indicated that the DVR was not completely setup. I think part of the problem is that AI seems to have information about every version of Plex that has been released over time. AI said that I should be able to click on the DVR tab in the live TV & DVR section. Which apparently does not exist in the current version of Plex. My version of Plex is 1.42.2.10156. I’m a long time user of BeyondTV. I had two systems with BeyondTV that would record local OTA TV shows. I was trying to get the guide favorites to show programs listings. But on both of my Plex PC’s the favorites is blank other than the channel names on the left. AI thought that the DVR was not completely setup because the favorites was blank. I would like to setup my two systems so that they will record the same shows. I’ve had problems in the past that would cause one system to not record. I have the condition that on some shows if PC A is recording it then PC B won’t allow me to record the program. When I go to live TV on PC B it show PC A guide.
.I know that AI is not always accurate. But it sure makes it easy to create Powershell, Bash scripts or SQL query statements. I would spend hours if not days to write them. But AI does it in seconds.
It was a little difficult with Plex because AI would intermix different Plex versions. Since I don’t know much about Plex it’s difficult to know when AI is wrong. But it has allowed me to gain access to different plex URLs to look for information.
