Apologies if this has been answered before, I could only find the answer on what looked like older version of plex.
Currently I run plex on a Windows 10 box and have recently built an Open Media Vault server and installed plex in a docker container. I am testing the setup before I move all of my content from the Windows to the Linux box.
If I browse to the plex container IP locally. I get a login prompt, however after I login I just see my existing Windows 10 server and all of it’s content.
I would like to host some content on the linux box and check if it transcodes ok etc etc but I cannot see a way to switch between the two servers. I am just shown the original one.
You first need to “claim” the new server into your account.
Depending on how PMS is running on OMV, you might need to open a tunnel into the virtual machine/container.
Unfortunately I have no experience with OMV whatsoever, so I cannot really help you there.
However, I’ve no notification has appeared on my main server to claim it.
When I login to the new server, I see all the content from my main one, even though I am using the IP of the new one.
Do you know if some other ports are required to be open?
