my permissions look okay though for all I know they are not.

Enable debug logging on the server. Shut down plex media server
Re launch plex media server
Reproduce the problem and get screenshots and zip of the server logs

I have split the posts that followed the above into a new topic as the problem changed with the above problem resolved. I am pasting here the update from @ataribaby for the above problem

So I restarted a couple of times, and suddenly Plex is playable again in realtime, and so no more transcoder failed messages. But still won’t sync. Always stops at 50%. Looking at the Transcoder directory, there’s a folder in there, and inside it continues to add “chunks” every few seconds, but the syncs always stay stuck at 50%

Just to update here for future searchers, I deleted my iOS app and installed a fresh copy, and that seems to have solved it.
