"conversion failed. the transcoder exited due to an error."

I’ve had plex up and running for about a year now, but over the last week I’ve been getting transcoder errors. i’ve searched online for fixes, boils down to an uninstall, and reinstall a previous functioning version of plex, not sure if thats the proper way of doing it… I dont know what exactly i can/should do at this point. having this problem on multiple devices not only on my tv. im running myself out of ideas on what to do to fix, has anyone else had this issue and able to fix?

Me too, soon as I upgraded to version 1.13.4.5271 I can’t watch anything for more than a few seconds

I know it is unorthodox to do so, from what I’ve seen, Plex Admins and such don’t approve of this sort of repair. I found a fix that worked for me immediately, there is a security update that windows implemented on one of the last updates, after uninstalling the update, plex performed flawlessly as it did prior to the update. I would provide a screen shot of it or a name, but i don’t have a screen shot, and the name of the update I do not recall. Also would like to not get in trouble with any of the Plex administrators as I have seen from other threads using this fix. If i can find the thread again, I will share the link to it on here. but for now, look through windows update settings, find the newest security update and uninstall it, restart computer and give it a shot.
