Instructional Videos

Looking for input on the best way to add a few sets of instructional videos to my Plex server so I can view and play in a few locations both home and when out. What I have are a few instructional sets for musical instruments including the guitar, piano and drums. Taking the guitar course as example, it consists of 40 AVI videos broken down between 20 Lessons and 20 Workshop videos and 100 or so MP3 audio songs over 5 CDs. I’m primarily interested in the videos.

  1. Is there a way to include both video and audio under one Library? I don’t believe so but wanted to ask in case some obscure way worked.
  2. Would I be better off using a Movies, “TV Shows” or a “Home Videos” Library for this?

I was thinking a Library called “Music Education” then something for each Guitar, Piano and Drums with videos in each.

Any suggestions would be great

Gotta add that adding PDF support would be great as well to be able top pull up the associated Manual, Workbook, Music Sheets, etc for review as well. This isn’t a big deal as they can also go on my iPhone but that’s simply taking up more space instead of being able to consolidate everything on my Plex server.

Thanks

It is usually best to create a ‘Home Videos’ type library for things which don’t have metadata. It gives you the opportunity and maximum control over naming and structure. You can organize it as you deem appropriate.

Seems to be what you’re desiring?

Thanks… that is what I figured.
