Integrate UPnP into Android app

Basically AirPlay for Android phones
So Tobias was nice enough to enable UPnP rendering into Plex Home Theater. What this means is you can send video over UPnP to Plex Home Theater.

There are a number of apps like BubbleUPnP for android that take advantage of this. After installing one, you can go to Android YouTube (or a number of other video apps), and then hit the share button. From there you select BubbleUPnP, and the video is sent directly to Plex Home Theater. So it's basically AirPlay for Android devices.

Unfortunately, unlike Yatse for XBMC, the video doesn't play immediately after selecting BubbleUPnP in the share menu. You have to go through one more dialog to send it. After that, BubbleUPnP opens and allows you to control the video playing on Plex Home Theater.

What I'm proposing is to integrate this functionality directly into the Plex android app. So when you hit the share button in youtube, you could select Plex. Then the video would play on Plex HT and the Plex remote would open on your phone.

I dont use airplay myself, but Plex H/T can already be controlled by the current android app.

Why not set Plex H/T as the player in plex for android then search for a youtube video using the channel and tell it to play on Plex H/T? Thats currently what I do when I'm in the mood. Once you tell it to play on Plex H/T the remote control screen pops up on android

I do this for all my local content already

This is true but it will only work for things tied to Plex (i.e., your personal media and channels). There isn’t a plex channel for everything. The native android apps are also generally nicer to use than most plex channels which are basically just file lists. Upnp just gives you more options and flexibility.

Ok so did a little more research i do think it would be cool to airplay a device video file to another client, maybe you should add a poll for people to vote on it

The way you vote on this subforum is to press the green "+" button on the bottom right of the first post.

More what i was getting at is starting a new post with a "poll" / vote the + / - is a reputation item not really a vote

Maybe I don't understand you. On this subforum, as per the [directions in the sticky](http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/46128-rules-for-this-forum/), you should vote on feature requests by pressing the reputation button. I understand that's not what it's normally for, but it's an exception on this subforum. Look at all the other feature requests. The popular requests have high rep points.

I will add this to the new Kelper wish list and Poll.

Great! Thanks

Something very similar to this was just added to the new "Kepler" Android client! If you're in the Android youtube app, there is an "Add to Plex" button in the share menu. What this does is add the video to your Plex queue. Very cool!

I still think it would be cool to send the video directly to Plex Home Theater with one button press a la the Yatse app for XBMC, but now I'm just being picky :)

Kepler will gain the ability (which the current Plex Android app has) to "fling" video to Plex Home Theater and other Plex apps.

The Android App has a cool Interface but without this function. I will never us it. Now I need BubbleUPNP for listen Music! Dont forget Music. I send my Music Content from PlexServer to my Oppo. At this Moment no chance todo this with Plex ;-( nativ.
