Server Version#: 4.143.0
Hello and kind regards from Switzerland.
First of all I am not a native speaker so please excuse any strange expression in advance, please.
Some days ago I was able to install Plex Server onto a Raspberry Pi 5 (“bookworm” OS). I am not a LINUX pro although dealing with the terminal on my Mac which seems to be more or less the same within LINUX most of the time. I copied over all my music from my Mac to an SSD drive within the Raspberry and Plex server was able to locate every single music file. So far so good.
As I do not want to re-configure all my playlists again I thought about importing the XML file Apple Music can export.
Following an article regarding exact that topic just with the older iTunes I thought it would be more or less the same:
[Import iTunes/Apple Music into Plex -alistairphillips.com]
Although the Plex Server on. my Raspberry Pi can locate any music file it seems to ignore the XML file. How do I know this?
I’ve been using SONOS products for many years by now, I once hosted my media over iTunes stored on an Intel Mac mini. But after SONOS modified their software last year and Mac OS does not support SAMBA version 1 anymore I was forced to watch out for another possibility to play my music over my local network to SONOS speakers. In fact all my SONOS speakers are able to play any music file stored on my Raspberry Pi but not a single playlist is showing up within Plex for SONOS (and of course not anywhere else, too). So I guess (…) that I did something wrong in modifying the XML the way Plex Server on Raspberry Pi could deal with it.
Any helpful hint or experience concerning that topic? I would be very thankful as I am missing my music in my home now for almost more than a year by now. Thanks in advance!
