In May 2021 while visiting my brother, I added my Plex account to his Sonos account, and enjoyed streaming my music 3000 miles across the country to his Sonos speakers.
I got my first Sonos speakers for Christmas 2021 and had zero problem adding Plex to my own Sonos account. I can browse my Plex media via the Sonos app. However, within any Plex for Android apps, whenever I tap the cast button I can see local Chromecast devices, and I can see my brother’s Sonos devices, but I cannot see my own devices.
I have attempted revoking access to all Sonos devices listed in Authorized Devices. I then reauthorized my own Sonos account. And STILL my brother’s Sonos speakers show up for casting and mine do not.
Can anybody provide some insight on how Plex communicates with Sonos? How does Plex query and find devices to cast to?
I would like to cast to my own Sonos devices, first and foremost. And being able to cast to mine AND my brother’s speakers would be bonus.
