Interface missing or blank during/after playback

I have an intermittent problem where the on screen controls are missing once playback starts. For instance, after starting a video and trying to pause/seek/etc the interface is not showing up. However, I can tell the functionality still works and that I can attempt to navigate the interface even though it is not visible.

Additionally, if I try to end playback, the main Plex interface no longer shows and the screen is totally blank. This sometimes happens when playback ends automatically when the end of the video is reached.

In order to get it working, I have to completely exit the Plex client and reload it from the Vizio Home Screen.

This started happening about 2-4 weeks ago. I just turned on debug logs in the client, so I will post them the issue is reproduced.

There are some entries stating “Unable to find client profile for device; platform=Vizio SmartCast, etc.”

Glad I’m not the only one. Seems like it could be a bug with Vizios cause that’s what my tv is too. I didn’t have this issue on Roku tv ever. It drives me nuts though. Everytime I start plex, I have to close it and open it back up immediately just because I know it’s going to happen on the first start up after turning the tv on.

Just letting you know, I factory reset my tv and it fixed the issue. Not sure how long before it’ll come back but it’s at least a solution for now
