Intro skip has stopped working on all my devices. iOS, roku, pc, fire tv and iPadOS. It’s not even an option to select anymore.
“Stopped working” as in you no longer get the popup button to skip an intro during playback or something else (e.g. Plex no longer scanning for intros when you’re adding new episodes)?
Are you using your a Plex Pass account in the clients you’ve posted above (e.g. not the one linked to your forum post)?
While that’s not related to the OP‘s question:
- you can configure Plex to remove or skip ads in media being recorded through Plex‘ DVR
- you cannot skip ads in the online media sources like Plex‘ video on demand or live tv streams
I have the lifetime plan, no longer have the option. Last time I added a tv show it was still scanning intros.
Oh and im on my account on my home network.
Have you checked if it’s no longer working for a show where it used to work? Plex will only recognize intros that are at least 20 seconds (see the link posted by adefaria).
So it works on a show I was watching. I did redo by tv folder a month ago and added the show I was watching first. So apparently it didn’t add intros to anything else? I’ve tried analyzing and it didn’t do anything
Depending on your configuration, Plex will only scan for intros as part of its scheduled tasks; it can also be configured to do the detection immediately when new files are added.
Manually triggering this via Analyze will only work if you trigger it on a season or episode (for that season/episode respectively).
I think I corrupted my library data. A few weeks ago I had to move 8tb of movies because of a raid failure and combined 13tb of tv shows to a 16tb drive. So moving all the files around I believe was too much at once for my library.
If your library is corrupted, this will show in your server logs – even though, the clients should still be able to skip intros previously detected.
