What am I doing wrong. I have a trusted family member who leaves in another city. I have given them full access using the invite a friend feature. They can view my movie dashboard OK and can view a streaming movie OKwith no problems, but I want to let them download a movie from my Plex server which they can not do. (No Option found to download). What do I need to do to allow them to also download a movie?
Only the server owner is allowed to download.
Sharees are not.
This is intentional and unlikely to change soon.

Have them sign in using your username and password if they are that trusted.
I would disable delete rights within the plex server so they dont mistakenly delete something on you.
and note that their watched status will show in YOUR watched status… not perfect but works.
