iOS App

I have a Plex Pass, lifetime, and I am wondering about the iOS app. I have a granddaughter that I share with who recently bought an iphone. She is being asked to pay a monthly fee for plex even though she is signing into my server where I am sharing all libraries with her. Is this right, or is she doing something wrong?

I am strictly an android guy and know nothing about Apple or their products.

Thanks,

john

The behaviour is correct.

The mobile apps either require a one-time fee for ‘activation’
or the plex user account under which they are running to have a Plex Pass.

Your granddaughter has neither.

You could invite her into your Plex Home. This would unlock her phone app.
However, this would also activate Fast User Switching, so that she can easily switch to your user level (and you to hers), unless you both set a 4-digit PIN.

Thanks for clearing that up. I know that I paid a one time fee when she got her phone and used Plex. That’s why I was wondering. If she paid that fee once, why would she be asked again.

I did set her up in my home account and with pins

Thank you,

john

If she has paid already, she can ‘restore’ her purchase.
If she is using the same AppleID as before, when she bought the app originally.

Great, thanks so much.
