How does the mobile app gets activated to unlimited access via a Plex Pass subscription? I am planing to purchase a Plex Pass in the future, but I am good with just the mobile app for right now. The Plex account email address is different with 2 of the Apple store accounts I am planing to have the mobile app installed.
Will I be able to switch between mobile phones when I activate the mobile app via the Plex Pass subscription?
When activating the app (one-time-activation) you’ll be asked to link the client to your Plex account – so there’s no need for the e-mail addresses of your Apple-ID / Plex account to match.
However… the activation is tied to your Apple ID, so you cannot apply it to a second (or third, fourth, fifth…) account.
Users who don’t have a Plex Pass subscription—and aren’t interested in a subscription—can unlock Plex for iOS through a simple, one-time purchase.
The purchase is tied to your Apple ID. You can download and use on any iOS device, when using the Apple ID that made the original purchase. The purchase does not extend to a different Apple ID, nor does it extend to other app stores, such as Amazon or Google Play.
Warning! : Doing the in-app purchase of Plex for iOS does not give you a Plex Pass subscription; it only unlocks the app itself to remove the playback limitation. If you want a subscription, get Plex Pass on our website or through the app and then sign into your account in the app instead.
