iOS Plex App disconnects from Chromecast when paused after a min or 2

I browsed the forums and only found old items from 2013 - 2014 on this and they all say it’s a problem that google has to fix. I just find that hard to believe when all other apps I pause while chromecasting and they stay connected for far longer than the Plex App.

This mainly bugs during my workouts, when I cast to chromecast and after a bit i some times have to pause to refill water, take a breather etc. between 1 min to 5min at most the casting disconnects when paused. I unlock phone Plex refreshes and casting disconnects (at times when the TV shows it was still connected) and more often than not i have to navigate back to the video and resume after recasting. Sometimes i’m lucky and Plex returns to the video and i just have to reconnect the cast and resume; but more often it does not.

Does anyone hopefully have a solution to this so the Plex App will stay connected longer to chromecast when its paused? at least a 10min timeout would be nice vs 1min or 2, i even had it happen as soon as i paused and phone auto-locked which was like 10 - 15sec

Same issue here. I’ll keep an eye on this topic.

I have exactly the same experience (iPad with ios 15.2). Background refresh is enabled. Unfortunately I have not found a solution yet.
