iOS Plex see the synology NAS as offline

On my Synology NAS I installed the latest Plex media server available on the Synology package center. I also installe the Plex player app on both my IPhone 15 and on my iPAD. but updated to the latest iOS version. On both my iPhone and iPad I connected to the Plex media server with the same account. While all works fine on the iPad, from the iPhone I see the Synology NAS as off line.
NAS is clearly online, connected to the network. Both the iPAD and the iPhone are properly connected to the same wireless network. I deinstalled and reinstalled several time plex app from the iPhone but the problem continue to be there. I also compared iPAd and iPhone network and plax configuration and they are exacthly the same on both the two devices, CAn you please help me to fix this problem? It is pretty odd and I have no idea on how to proceed. If you are not the right team to help me, can you please let me know who should I contact to fix this problem? I forgot to mention that the NAS is a new Synology 224+ and the DSM is 7.2.2

You don’t use anything from the Package Center. Install directly from Plex, manually.

Should I deinstall Plex media center from the NAS and install the latest version as from plex web pages?

That’s what I would do, if it’s a new install.

Let me try, then. Do you know if the latest Plex media server release can fix the iPhone “off line” problem? What does sound strange to me is the fact that it works with iOS on iPad but not on iOS iPhone.

What you could also try is to re-authorize your devices.

  • Logout on your mobile device (Settings>account>logout)
  • On app.plex.tv go to “Settings>authorised devices” and remove your previous logged out devices with the red “X”. Then logout from the web portal.
  • Reboot your NAS.
  • Now open your mobile device again and login with your credentials.

I have a DS224+ too. I always download the Synology updates from the website and use “manual installation” on the package center. The displayed Plex application on the package center is usually a couple of versions behind.

I apologize I didn’t reply you yet. I implemented both your suggestion and all is working fine now. My problem is fixed now (and I am still dancing for that :slight_smile: ).
