Can't access my media library from Synology Nas

I cannot connect to my Synology NAS server. I have updated it manually to the most recent synology package software. I’m thinking it may have to do after I upgraded all of my Apple devices (phone, appleTv, Mac devices). There used to be a “my library” tab but it is no longer available. I have done many searches and I just can’t access my Plex library from any of my devices. When I tried on my apple TV, it tried to connect to my server but it did not work and since then it has not tried to connect again. Any help?

Can you access Plex Media Server using Plex Web?

If not, point a browser at the IP address of the NAS. For example, if the IP address is 10.1.2.3, use http://10.1.2.3:32400/web. Can you login, click the gear icon (settings), and see the server settings? If so, go to General. Is the server claimed?

I am apple to go to Plex Web. I go to general and there is nothing that even shows my server name.

Is the NAS running DSM 6 or DSM 7?

Point a browser at http://nas_ip_address:32400/identity ← use http and substitute real IP address. You may see a “site not secure” message. That is OK. It is your server.

You should see one line of XML. It will contain claimed=0 (unclaimed) or claimed=1 (claimed).

Example: <MediaContainer size="0" apiVersion="1.1.1" claimed="1" machineIdentifier=....

Which do you see?

NAS is running DSM 7.

I’m not understanding how to do the second part. I connect to my Synology via quick connect. I’m doing the http://nas_ip-address:32400/(my ip address) but it won’t do anything. Am I doing it wrong? Sorry

I’m wondering if the Plex server is unclaimed (since you cannot see it in Plex Web).

It is OK to login to DSM via QuickConnect. However, QuickConnect will not work to login to Plex and claim a server. That’s why I asked you to use the IP address of the NAS.

Let’s see if the log files show anything.

Stop Plex Media Server.
Using File Station, navigate to the Plex Data Folder.
Right click on the Logs directory and choose Compress to Logs.zip.
Download the zip file and attach it to the thread.

If Plex is running, you should get some response.

The IP address of my server is 192.168.1.46. If I go to http://192.168.1.45:32400/identity, then I see the XML in my earlier reply.

You can try using https instead of http. You might see a “site is not secure” message from your browser. If so, choose to continue. You’re connecting to your own server, so there is no security issue.

So I think I may have found the issue. On my other apple TV I have not updated the software to the newest version. I was able to get on to the plex library and my sinology server that had all of my plex videos/music/etc. I updated all my other apple devices to iOS 26. Could that be the issue?

I do not know. I do not have any Apple devices.

I have not noticed any posts about iOS 26, but I do not look at that part of the forum very often.

Still, you should be able to login to your server using a web browser and see your libraries. If you cannot, then something is not working right.

I saw this elsewhere: MacOS 26 cannot play live TV - #23 by Atomatth

Thank you for all your help! You’ve been awesome.

All I know is I woke up this morning and it all works is I sign in under my “Apple log-in” on the sign in page. But if I sign in as my email with the password or through “Google log-in” my media server from sinology’s is not available. It’s super weird. I can’t download any of my media and can’t manage my account when I sign in under Apple log in. My family has their accounts and can’t get to the media server either. I’ma lifetime plex pass and I have no access to my media now when I log in under google or email and password. But logging in under Apple, I have my media server but can’t manage my account

Super confused

Let’s see if the log files show anything.

  1. Stop Plex Media Server. Wait 30 seconds.
