iOS Show/Movie progress not updating to main server

Didn’t see an exact match to this topic in the forums, so here it is:

I’ve noticed that with the various shows or movies I watch on my ipad, often the progress status never quite updates to the server side. Even with the ipad online almost every second of something being watched, when I bring up the main plex.tv console, it still has episodes on deck as half watched, or some episodes marked unwatched when I had already watched them on my ipad a few days ago.
The same for movies. I had a movie I was watching just yesterday, stopped it at 1 hour in, but the web console was still thinking it was only 20-25 minutes into it.
As I mentioned, the ipad has an internet connection just about everywhere I am, so it’s not like there is a lack of ability for it to talk to the plex server.

Anybody have some insight on this?

Thanks

How are you doing this?
Are you opening a new web browser window, where you load the web app
or are you simply opening a web browser tab where the web app has been sitting dormant, probably for hours?
If it is the latter: just refresh the page or dive down into a library and then go back to the home page.

Here is a recommendation for users running Plex server on Windows. It helps with issues like the above:

I have tried both a dormant page, refreshing it and opening a new window for plex web. Didn’t see a difference.
The Plex server is running on a W2012R2 VM. Had power management set to max overall so I had thought the power management setting you mentioned would be ignored. Have unchecked the options and will see if it makes a difference in the next few days.

Thanks!
