iOS Video playback with sound to Airplay Speaker won't work

Hey, i have kind of a strange problem. When watching something (everything is direct played) and trying to cast the sound from the Episode/Movie to an Airplay-Speaker (Sonos One), using the Control Center, it just does nothing (spinning loading wheel) or immediately states “Error Something went wrong”. It works in every other app.

This happens on both my iPhone 12 and iPad Air (4th Gen).

Is this a problem on my side or the app?

Having the same issue when I try to use my airport express speakers or if I try to airplay to my appletv. Can only airplay to my appletv by using screen mirroring. This has been since the latest iOS app update. (7.13)

Apparently nobody at Plex cares about this. PiP is also still not working.

Can anyone at plex at least confirm that this is known and maybe being worked on?

Still nothing. I don’t get it…how is the basic implementation of OS features so unimportant to you guys?

I am not able to simultaneously AirPlay from an Apple TV to both “TV Speakers” and an additional device. I don’t think I have the described issues when sending to a single device.

You have have better results if you enable the Old video player within the Plex iOS and tvOS app. Several recent Apple video features (PIP, Spatial Audio) do work with the Old video player.
