I have a new AirPlay speaker. I am able to successfully airplay music from the Apple Music app and the iOS YouTube app to the speaker. However, when I go to Plexamp and try to airplay to the same speaker, it appears to connect, and the scrub bar is moving over the sound wave visual after pressing Play, but no sound is coming through the same speaker. Thing is, I also can’t get the iOS Plex app to airplay to the speaker either. I’m at my wits end. Plexamp (and Plex app for that matter) both have access to my network in iOS settings. I have an iPhone 11 running iOS 15.3. Plexamp version is 3.9.1. Any help or ideas on what to look at are greatly appreciated!
AirPlay is a mysterious thing. We don’t have control over the audio stream, the system routes it and takes care of it. We’ve heard a few reports of people having issues with it and not Music.app in certain cases, but I’m not sure why that would be. It seems to work fine on my HomePods and other AirPlay devices.

For me, with two HomePods, airplay and plexamp works fine.
Maybe your airplay speaker causes the problem?
Airplay is managed by IOS.
