I have tried so many things to get my ipad 3 to work for plex after resetting the password as notified to do. I got all ,the other devices working but not my ipad 3. I used it recently before tje password update request and have had plex running on it for years without problem. Now I cant get it to find the sources after I either uninstall app and reinstall or log out and then back in. It shows my server is offline but it is not.
Please I use it for travel and heading out soon. So sad a passwordm reset makes you almost reinstall the whole set up. Never seen this before. Anyway if someone could recommend something.
What version of iOS and the Plex app are you running on that iPad? I’m still using an old iPad Air (1st gen) with iOS 12 and an older version of Plex (cannot currently check the version)… which handled the password reset alright.
If your version of Plex predates the support for 2FA and you’re using a 2FA setup, you might need to enter both the password and the 1-time code in the password field.
HI thanks for responding. My ipad is much older that yours. I am running ios 9.3.6. I cant update any higher. It has been like this for some years not but it still works and so did plex.
My plex all is version 8.8
The password update ruined it all as they must have new security settings for new installs. I’m guessing and the password update meant you had to almost reinstall everything. I can get to my account and server to pick but after that when sources comes up to pick the items you want pinned on the left side, the ones they show are not mine. I tried pinning them and they are all empty it said.
It also shows my server is offline. I also run the Shield from Nvidia and it shows OK but it just gets running inline with my server.

I have deleted the app and reinstalled it - twice. And same thing. I just cant get to the correct settings. Also logged out and re logged back in a few times and same thing.
I just tried again as there was a plex server update. Both my regular server and my Shield both show offline when I sign back in and I have to chose my servers and when I pull up sources the only option I get is Music. I can go into it and Tidal is there. But nothing else. If I complete it, then hit more I get a lot more options but they are all empty
Did you also reclaim your server after changing your Plex account password?
Yes I did reclaim. That did not come up at first but after a few times it did. I did it on the main server as well.
