My server appears offline on one device, online on other devices and on the Mac

Hi, Plex can’t find server from iPad app (updated to latest version 7.23). If I enter the settings it is as if the server is offline. This has been happening to me for the last few days, before updating but also after it doesn’t go. I tried to reset network settings, deactivate application and reactivate it, obviously log out of the account and re-enter, turn off the modem and reactivate it, shut down Mac and restart it but nothing to do. The strange thing is that if I use an old iPad with an old App version (connected to the same home line) I can find the server, even from the computer but not from an iPad pro which I uselly use. I did not touch anything before the server disappeared (I see it but it is not highlighted, as if it were offline) until a few days ago everything was normal, please can you help me ? Thanks in advance.

Please Note:
There is no message that the app does not find the server, but the server name is not highlighted in orange as it should but is in white and there are no contents.

I have the same issue since a couple of days. Logging out and back in worked to get it up and running but I had two this after every time I switched apps so I updated to 7.24. Now my work around does not work.
Plex works fine on other devices, discovering my server, no issues. It even works in safari as a web app on the same iPad so the issue is app specific. I’ve made no changes in any of my settings anywhere, plex nor network

Thanks a lot, it seems to have solved. Like you, I hadn’t made any changes but for two or three days it didn’t work on the latest generation iPad app but it worked on the older generation iPad. Now after several attempts and tests I have miraculously solved it like this: I deleted server from plex media server settings (on browser from Safari), then I uninstalled and deleted program from Mac applications and then reactivated it by downloading latest version. Once reactivated I can now see it again in the iPad app, a real mystery. Thanks CIAO

By “I deleted server from plex media server settings (on browser from Safari)” do you mean you clicked the 3 vertical dots next to your library and selected to delete it? Or did you do something from settings?

Sorry, I mispronounced, wiped paired devices before installing Plex on Mac again.
Here are the steps taken in chronological order:

  1. opening on the web of Plex from a special desktop top bar icon;
  2. Plex page settings;
  3. authorized added devices (third item to go down on the left under user name);
  4. delete all authorized devices;
  5. go to the item on the left on the server name (found under PLEX WEB: fourth item after General, Quality, Reader)
  6. select server and exit;
  7. log out of Plex account;
  8. delete App Plex in applications;
  9. download the last Plex application again from the appropriate Plex page
    Media Server Downloads | Plex Media Server for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD and More
  10. drag Plex into applications and launch it from there;
  11. once launched, when the icon from the top bar appears on the desktop, open Plex, enter your account and then the account should appear with all the contents you had before deletion;
  12. go and check the iPad application or other devices and you should see the server marked in orange and not in white offline.
    At least so I did and now it’s okay
