Ipad Issue: pause, let screen turn black, then unpause

This issue is with respect to plex on the iPad version 2025 25.0, but I have noticed it sit the Plex experience preview started and it still isn’t fixed. I experience this issue connected to WiFi and if I disable WiFi and watch downloads (which I have to do because that is still having issues).

The issue is that if you pause plex and then step away from the iPad long enough that the screen turns black (falls asleep, whatever), and then if you go back into the Plex app and unpause what you were watching, then it stutters to the point of being unwatchable.

There are temporary fixes I’ve been using:

  1. If going to pause and step away, then close out of the player

  2. When coming back to iPad, close out of player and then resume

Ideally this would get fixed.

Just tried to replicate it using 2025.26.0 on Wi-Fi and still stutters, but seems to be picking back up. So only unwatchable for a short period of time. Better than I recall it being. That might tie in with the Wi-Fi experience getting a little bit better.

However, it is still an issue if watching without Wi-Fi on.
