IPhone Plex App to Chromecast Default Quality 0.3mbps on LAN? Sick of manually changing

All of my movies are a standard MP4 format, I used to have no problem just playing original quality all the time. At some point over the last few iPhone, Chromecast or Plex Server updates settings started defaulting to terrible quality. I want original/full quality ALL the time, regardless of any other variables. 99% of the time I am streaming from my local server on my local LAN, I have no quality issues with anything else such as Netflix, Hulu, or Even Plex after going into settings EVERYTIME I start a movie and selecting 20mbps, the original option actually disappeared, it claims original is 0.3mbps on every movie when that is not true.

Whats wrong with Plex? I, tried changing the server side settings to full quality by default (on the web interface for my server), that is not changing the iPhone App to Chromecast default quality low behavior.

What else can I do?

Have the same issue on mine. I have full quality on my chrome cast ultra when controlled by my iMac web interface but the app defaults to lowest quality for any of my shared friends using the iOS app. Need fixed ASAP this wasn’t an issue back in Oct honestly didn’t notice it until early December

May I have some DEBUG (not VERBOSE) log files of the start (first 30 seconds) of an actual playback session where you know you can recreate this?

What I need to see is what PMS decided and WHY it decided to do what it did.

0.3 Mbps sounds like network throttling. This will happen if your home LAN isn’t RFC1918 and/or you don’t have a direcct connection to the server (Plex Relay becomes involved).

There are a lot of variables. This is why I need the logs.

if you can restart the server, give it a minute to stabilize, then recreate the problem. that’s even better.

After you start playback, let it run 30 seconds, then stop
wait another 30 for logs to flush
then pull Settings - Server - Troubleshooting - Download Logs
