I am not able to connect to my qnap nas server from home going into the server connections on advanced settings. I can connect when I am on my wifi directly, but was testing how to connect to my server when not on home network. my mac laptop works connecting to the nas, but cant get my ios device to work. error is 401 code stating unable to add connection. thanks for any help
Error code 401 is “Unauthorized” (HTTP error codes are used most frequently for ease of reference)
Not being able to access all the settings while home implies the browser and server aren’t signed into the same Plex.tv account.
The iOS connection will require it go secure. Secure connection requires authentication / signed-in
Since both mac and ios can’t authenticate for https, Verify the server (settings - server - general) is signed into plex.tv (and connected properly to the internet)
