Server Connections in iOS PLEX app

Greetings,

In the iOS PLEX app I am unable to add a Server Connection. I get the following error.

“Unable to add connection
A connection to a server couldn’t be established using the details you provided.
Error code: 401”

I am, however, able to reach my PLEX server externally via web browser (over LTE, etc.) using the Internet IP address and port configured by PLEX server (http://[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]:[port]/web)

Seems like the iOS app isn’t trying to access the web interface of the PLEX server but rather the root server, hence the unauthorized user access error.

Is there a known fix or WIP addressing the issue? Am I doing something wrong?

Wow I have not seen that this has been opened since 2015! So this issue is getting really old. Is it ever getting resolved?

Same here. I can’t seem to get any remote access to my Plex Server. I’ve tried using the router’s DNLA and Port forwarding in the router. I only get a refused to connect response using the web interface.
