Is anybody working at Plex going to fix the Nvidia shield startup freezing but audio plays and then catches up fix

Hey can you let the guy know whatever player they’re working on that apparently it’s like the web interface now if you have a high quality Blu-ray rip and you play it on the web interface it’ll lag and then if you transcode it down a little bit it’ll play fine but before on the Nvidia shield it would play maximum no problem now all of a sudden with the new update link on the Nvidia shield that just recently came out you have to go down a little bit otherwise the high quality Blu-ray riffs will lag every once in a while just to get a heads up I know you’re working on the player and talking with the guy so that’s why I put it on this form because the sound still plays fine it just lags in the video catches up again so now it’s dumb like the web interface it’s like actually on a computer logging in and doing it

The latest beta Plex for Android 9.1.0.31720-beta with the new demuxer seems to fix the frame freezing at startup issue. I will keep testing.

FYI, 9.1.0 still has this bug, which I mentioned here after the first “nightly” new demuxer build was posted 2 months ago.

I’m no longer seeing the “up next” problem in the latest beta (9.1.0.31720).

I’m seeing the bug for most of my TV shows using the latest beta. I haven’t bothered to look closer to see which media type(s) it happens with… but it’s definitely still there. I’d say “that what I get for using beta”…but when the non-beta is even more broken, I’ll just be headed back to Kodi for a few months and hopefully Plex can get their ducks in a row. I’ve lost patience with them adding new features nobody asks for without first addressing basic bugs. I’m usually never this salty, but holy cow has Plex fallen from glory in recent years.

it’s definitely still there.

Yeah my blu-rays don’t even play anymore only DVD videos play but not blu-rays anymore what is going on

Who do i need to pay to fix the android subtitle selection major bug that was introduced couple of updates ago?

Thank You Guys!!

I have been testing the latest builds and for me the problem is fixed. With the initial video freeze up problem resolved, it has also solve an OOS audio problem when using the skip intro and a fast forward functions.

As @koolo mention there is an annoying issue with subtitle automatically starting. It’s intermittent and only when allowing the system to auto_play the next EP.

If you use the transport function to fast forward to the next EP and manual hit enter to start the EP, the issue doesn’t happen.

Full blu-ray rips have a real hard time playing still. Some won’t even start. They will sit there forever with the spinning circle until Plex finally crashes. This is with version 9.0.5.31871.

When trying 9.1.0.31720-beta, it fixes the unable to play and FF/REW issues but also causes some blu-ray rip mkvs to have slight pauses in the video. Once this happens the audio continues to play and then becomes OOS with the video.

That doesn’t sound like anything related to the topic of this discussion, maybe create a new thread with some more debugging information?

Ahh I apologize. I think I mixed up this thread with another that I was reading previously. I know this is a bit OT at this point but I believe that 9.1.0.31883 fixed the issues I listed above. Thanks for the reply.

it does, but it breaks so many other things.

Just letting everyone know I I reset my Nvidia shield because I was doing something and when I installed all the Plex again everything started working no freezes no nothing it works like a champ like a champ. The only thing is when you scroll down your movies if you hold the down key and it goes down the letters don’t change unless you let go while it’s scanning and then it will catch up to where it was ever left off That’s the only thing
