I have two XBOX360s that I watch plex through, but if Itry and watch any video that is 720 or 1080p it will buffer and play, buffer and play, I then usually select 512k and it will play fine. or If I have the patience, I start the video, and after it buffers and starts to play again, I hit pause, and leave it there for an hour, and then it will play fine when I start it, and if it’s 1080p I have to pause for closer to 2 hours. Why? is this a xbox360 problem? a server problem? a storage device problem? any suggestions to remedy this?
Is it connected via Wifi or ethernet? Can you turn on logging in the app on 360 then after this happens ( try a smaller file that doesn’t take to long to start playing ) the 360 logs should get written to the Plex Media Server.log
on your computer with server installed.

I have a desktop hooked to a router, that feeds each of my 2 xbox360s ( in two different rooms) abdeach is hooked to a tv. I use one or the other with my xboxlive account. And as to your second part, I’m not sure what you are asking? what does " the 360 logs should get written to the plex media server.log on your computer with serve rinstalled". I do watch SD and similar size videos and have no problem, just with the 720 and 1080p ones,
when you turn on logging in the 360 app it reports the details of what it is doing to the server. those logs are written in the file Plex Media Server.log
which can be found on the computer you have the server installed on. the link i gave shows the location of those logs on different types of computers ( Windows, OS X, Linux )
the detail in the logs can possibly help determine why it is buffering so much for you.
ok, I’ll check that out, thank you much for the helpful replies.
