Is it ok to add media delete media scan library or refresh library while people are using my server to watch?

some people told me is it not recommended as it can corrupt the plex database ot even corrupt the media itself is that right ?
just a note by deleting media i mean media that are not being watched by my users at that moment

No, that is false information.

It all depends on the general power and computing resources. If you have already several (transcoded) streams going, reaction times might be much slower.
But removing (a few) items shouldn’t be much slower.
(Unless your server is really challenged in terms of memory and CPU speed.)

If it goes slow, it is important to let it sit and figure it out eventually on its own.
Don’t do anything rash, like hard-reseting your server machine during such an operation. Because that may actually cause some database damage.

I do this all the time. Like Otto said, there is no harm, but a scan can slow things down a bit just by using up CPU cycles. The one thing you don’t want to do while people are watching is optimizing the database. That will pretty much stop everything else while it’s going.

Agreed. Adding and removing items is fine, even on a very slow server. Plex prioritizes streaming and transcoding over media analysis, too.

As @VBB said, Optimizing the database will pause everything. Deleting an entire Library will also trigger a database Optimization. That won’t corrupt anything, but it will certainly interrupt anybody browsing until it completes.
