Is it possible to add a third choice in the New Airings vs Repeat option?

As I understand it, New Airings refers to episodes that are New on the air, and have never been shown before, and of course, repeats are just that. I find repeats will records the same episodes over and over, and New Airings does not record enough for my liking. I would love a third option, a sort of “New to Me” option - For example - If I choose NCIS to record, and it finds it is missing from my Library, then Plex records it, but otherwise ignores it. Could this be possible?

Yes I’d like to see this too. So often I have to choose new and repeats to get shows that I haven’t seen but aren’t listed in the guide as “New”.

I think Plex DVR does that already.
I believe if a episode of something or a movie exists in your library, Plex DVR will not record it as it is now unless you select replace with higher resolution.

I might be doing something wrong possibly. I will again refer to NCIS - as it was the series that prompted me to write. If I choose New Airings - nothing is up on the recording schedule. If I choose Repeat - it records all episodes. Even the ones I have. Also - I have noticed - possibly because NCIS is on many different channels, it will record the same episode.

you ought to be able to select a particular series. I think the easiest way to restrict it is to restrict to airing time and channel under advanced options, and then record using “New and Repeats”
