Is it possible to filter by critic rating

In the new plex UI (v3.2.1), I see the new advanced filter search feature. Is it possible to filter the critic rating ( the % one, not the user start one ) ?

I don’t see that. In the second filter link, I see :

  • Date Added
  • Release Date
  • Date Viewed
  • Name
  • Rating
  • Resolution
  • Duratin

But those are not even filter, they are sorting.

Even tho, I dont even have it as a filter. I only have rating but i think thats the user rating not the critic rating.

If you wouldn’t mind, would you go to https://plex.tv, sign in if not already and then click on the ‘launch’ button (top right of screen) and then check to see if you have the critic rating there or not please.

Also, could you try using other browsers, thanks.

Note: we are aware that there are no critic rating filters (they have not been added), but we are investigating why there is no critic rating sort item for the OP. If you could check that as well, it would help thanks.

Andy, navigated to Plex.tv Firefox Browser 52.0.2 (64 bit). No Critic rating with drop menu “All” Or “Sort” The same Chrome 57.0.2987.98 (64 Bit) and Safari 10.1

So not Browser specific

I am using chrome on windows 10 but yeah, it does not look like a browser specific issue since the menu item is not in the source code of the page either. it’s not a display issue.

Also, I discover than the sort by rating is actually equivalent to your sort by critic rating. I don’t know why mine has a different name. When I do sort by rating, I get the rotten tomato / imdb rating in the movie list page.

yup, the sort by rating is sorting by imdb / rotten ratings.
I have plex for a long now so maybe those are artefacts from previous versions ?

also, i have never used the user rating. none of my medias have been rated by me, ever.

Just to be clear, you opened Plex, entered your Movies library, then clicked on ‘All’ and then ‘By Title’ and you do not see ‘Critic Ratings’ in the list anywhere?

Could you grab a screenshot of the menu items displayed when you click on the ‘By Title’ menu please (that’s the second one from the top left, as shown in my screenshot), thanks.

I did check this using 1.3.3 running in a VM last night and I swear I saw the critics rating option then, but this morning I see exactly what you guys are seeing.

I can only imagine that it was some sort of browser cache issue, FireFox syncing to the VM, that caused me to see the critics rating option last night.

Also, selecting ‘By Ratings’ you should be seeing the Rotten Tomato ratings since you are using 1.4.4.

I can only suggest that you guys update to the Plex Pass version 1.5.3 in order to sort using the critics rating option. There is still no custom filter option though.

Oh, I see. It’s “Plex Pass” sensitive. Should be added in Plex Pass Doc’s as a feature.

And thanks for your screenshot, but it shows you are using custom filters and not the sort option. Custom filters for ‘critics rating’ have NOT been added, only the sort option for critics rating is available.

To get to the sort option, enter a Movies library then (top left), click on ‘By Title’ (second menu from the left) and select critics rating there. You do NOT select custom filters first.

Ok I’m not sure were on the same page. Sort by “all” is top left. Where’s by Title?

Plex Media Server 1.5.3 is now available to everyone.

Note: Some FreeNAS/BSD users using the Docker issues may experience issues with audio-transcoding. We are working on a fix, but a workaround is available at: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/265492/transcoder-fails-when-transcode-is-on-a-network-share

I just updated to latest version and I see the same options in the dropdown menu so that solves that ! I still want to filter tho :stuck_out_tongue: I want filter “greater than” / “lower than” for critic rating and I would love to select all “watched” movies.

Updated PMS to 1.5.3.3580 today and “Critic Rating” is available. Good Addition to sort. Thank you
