I have two Plex servers with different content on each, and I want to combine them into one. Can the data be merged to save time on rescanning libraries?
Unforunately, no it’s not possible.
The reason for this is media ID numbers inside the database are unique to each server instance.
Merging would only work if you know no two pieces of media had the same ID number and there are no numbering conflicts however every server has “media ID” = 1. This type of collision makes it impossible to merge without scanning.
