Merging two libraries of different types (film/tv + music)

Hi,

I haven’t been able to find a way to merge two different servers and libraries into one. I’ve seen posts about trying to make two different servers appear as one. But I want to merge servers that have been on two different computers onto one, while retaining both libraries.

An old Macbook – running Linux – has been my Plex music library for a year or two now. While my other PC – a Dell – has been my Plex film and TV library for the same period.

I want to retire the Macbook and bring its (music) library across to the newer PC. Is there a way to integrate these two libraries?

I’ve seen this ( Move an Install to Another System | Plex Support) but it’s not what I want to do, as this will overwrite the PC’s film and TV library with the music library.

I want to properly merge them. It seems odd this can’t be done easily – basically an export then import operation of a library type.

Am I missing something?

Unfortunately, this cannot be done.
You will need to create a new library on one of the servers.
