My server is a small miniPC that is not very powerful. When I run optimize, it does them even below 1x speed (while my gaming PC does it at like 17x). Is it possible to run the optimize on another computer, not the server? I know I can set up another server and point it to the same folder, but it is a bit of a hassle. Could I somehow use my client PC to make the optimized versions?
You cannot do that from within Plex.
You can however use your gaming rig to optimize your videos using e.g. Handbrake and subsequently replace the original files or add the optimized one as an alternate version to the Plex library.
