Is My ISP Affecting Speed or Access?

I have Spectrum and have loved it for sometime. Recently I’ve noticed problems with Youtube and Plex. Not only that, the Speediest channel on both Plex and Roku no longer work.

I think it’s imperative that Plex needs to design a bundle to test speeds to clients on there servers. We need to find out what our ISP is doing in regards to Plex and other’s access.

Yesterday I watched a youtube video where the ISP was affecting her access. She used a VPN as a workaround. Must we all get VPN’s now?

speedtest is linked in your server settings. check Settings > Server > Remote Access – it’s in the description below the setting for your own upload speed.

That ‘Feature’ isn’t available to non-Plex-Passers - I think I’m looking in the place you described:

Since our great Orange Leader gave ISPs a license to bend you over and drive you to St. Louey (Louey), they can pretty much do whatever they want. If you find a solution to their shenanigans - know that it will likely only be temporary.

In the past I was able to get a speed test. At this point all I get is updating info. Is there away for me to do a speed test though plex?

The Roku speedtest app is currently broken. It has been reported on Roku’s board but the app is said to be created by a third party so it may or may not get fixed.

I too have Spectrum and I have noticed no issues with any streaming at all. All apps work as they should but it should be noted that I do not provide my libraries outside my network so it is possible that Spectrum is throttling upload speed and thereby limiting streaming outside your network.

I just loaded the little speedtest app on my FireTV when I found the one on Roku busted.
Seems to work ok.
