Is Plex Pass still required for remote streaming without relay?

I fail to find a answer on my question here, but maybe something here can help me with answer.

My question I am not using “Plex Relay” and haven’t since it was introduced so will I still need a Plex Pass for remote streaming or will I be alright?

I want to know before the price increase so I can have a week or something to think about if the Plex Pass will be worth the 119bucks for me because I do not encode people use Direct Play everywhere streaming from my server.

From the FAQ of the related blog post:

I do not have a Plex Pass, but stream remotely from a Plex Media Server:

To stream remotely starting on April 29, 2025, you will need a Remote Watch Pass or Plex Pass subscription on your account or the admin of the Plex Media Server from which you stream will need a Plex Pass subscription on their account

It’s about remote access in general, not if you’re using a Plex relay.

Correct, I read that and wasn’t 110% sure because remote access requires port forwarding which I have already set.

I guess there is no way around paying to be able to reach my files than which a bummer
